Caterpillar Polyurethane Parts
Polyurethane Caterpillar Parts
Caterpillar parts made from polyurethane have proven to outwear other
materials in particular when abrasion is a factor. It is vastly
superior to rubber, plastics and metal in many applications. It has a
higher load bearing capacity than any conventional rubber. This makes
it an ideal material for load wheels fitted to fork trucks etc, heavy
duty couplings, metal forming pads, shock absorbing pads, machine
mounts etc. In fact it can be moulded into virtually any form given
the correct moulds and tooling are used.
Should your machinery have an abrasion issue resulting in expensive production down time, then replacing the part or parts manufactured in POLYURETHANE will in most cases solve the problem, thus reducing your operational costs. Polymac supplies the mining and earthmoving industries with couplings to suit the Caterpillar scrapers.
Caterpillar uses polyurethane materials in hydraulic seals,
struts, track adjusters, arm rests, and other parts. Polymac are
able to manufacture and refurbishes a wide range of Caterpillar parts.
ranging from engine mounts to turn table wear pads.
Polymac refurbishes all Caterpillar engine mounts using your existing
worn out engine mounts. We replace the worn out rubber cushion with a
polyurethane cushion. Existing engine mounts which have been
refurbishes with polyurethane have shown approximately a 3 times
increase in lifespan over a rubber component.
This is achieved by several factors:
- The Polyurethane is fully bonded to the inner core.
- The outside of the polyurethane is molded to maximize the surface area in contact with the outer shell prior to being pressed into the outer.
- Polyurethane is inert to most chemicals including those used in the mining/earthmoving industries. e.g. oils, diesel, petrol, greases etc.
- Eliminate the "play" common to rubber bushings
If you have any items that you are having problems, just send a drawing or a new part so that we are able to replicate the item and test for correct durability for Australian conditions.
